ARCHITECTURE

We believe that architecture should speak softly. An architecture of honest forms with a straightforward grammar of construction is, in our view, more likely to stand the test of time.

Architecture shapes space and our inclination is to cut the fat off space. To rationalise and to simplify, to design from first principles.

Architecture is a public art with social responsibilities. Our intention is to create spaces that enhance their context, that offer delight to those who interact with them and that nourish community.

We have a moral obligation to the environment. We rationalise our designs to work in conjunction with the climate. We harvest the sun, the wind and the rain.

PAINTING

Painting is my refuge. It is my meditation.

Painting provokes questions.

I can say things in paint that I find difficult to express in other ways. Hopefully what shows in my work is my response to the world and my response to life.

But whether or not I am understood is not important, It is the emotional reaction that matters . . a feeling of connection.
